History

Otago Darts Association was founded in 1952 by Mr Ces Purkis and some fellow enthusiasts and they played in peoples houses, sheds and garages. In 1957 they moved into their first clubrooms,The Electrolux Building, Dowling Street for 2 years until 1960 when they moved to the Pigeon Warehouse (old Dunedin Working Men’s Club) Vogel Street.  In 1962 they moved to Lower Moray Place (now John Swans Engravers) and were there until 1986 when the club sold the premises and purchased the old Union Steamship Company offices in Water Street.

In 1996 the Water Street premises were sold and the club moved, temporarily, into the Dunedin Metropolitan Club, Melville Street (now NZ Natural History) until new rooms were found. In 1999 the club opened its current premises the South Dunedin Community Hall, King Edward Street, South Dunedin.
